Forty Seven hostages held in duress by three notorious international cyber-terrorist madmen making demands like no tomorrow. You've got 1 hour and a open-source compiler gcc 7.6.2 to code an RSA decription program or else they kill the hostages. What would you do?
Here I am, wondering how I get myself into situations like these but working for the Gromer group, I should hardly wonder. I was just here to make a withdraw from the bank when all this crap started happening. As I remember it, the three cyber-punks rushed into the bank from three different directions holding firearms and grenades, telling us all to get on the ground followed by several shots to take out the interior cameras.
The lead fellow tells the dame behind the window glass to scram, plugs in his laptop and proceeds to make a transaction. I've seen this kind of operation before: they hack into
the mainframe of the finance transition unit, the day before the robbery, acquire the access codes and execute the transaction from the primary link in the robbery the next day.
He's been standing there, typing away frantically for the past 15 minutes. Something must've gone wrong, normally this kind of operation happens pretty quickly when the codes are already broken. The Lead looks over at the 2nd shorter guy, speaking to him with frustration in his voice, in a foreign language I can't understand.
I can't really hear them that well anyways so I record their lip movements with my optical scanner. Now, if I could just upload this to the net, I'd be able resolve the lip reading and translate the language but I can't get a connection anywhere. They must have a jamming unit to prevent anyone from communicating with the outside. The lead gets done talking to shorter guy and starts walking over towards me.
He starts questioning me about the RSA encoding of the primary finance unit. But how does he know about my background in RSA cyber hacking? I guess he must have scanned my face and cross referenced with and ID database which means he's got some kind line to access the net.
I've got to do something...
